In case you haven’t figured it out already, we’re all really big bicycling fanatics at the Vancouver Biennale. In addition to the Tour de Biennale (watch for it to return in 2014) and the Bikennale, we thought we’d celebrate Bike Month with a new addition to our pedal-powered repertoire. On Sunday June 8 from 2-4pm, join the Vancouver Biennale’s Barrie Mowatt for a bike tour of some of Vancouver’s more compelling works of public art.

Beginning at Reckless Bikes at 110 Davie Street at 2pm sharp, Barrie Mowatt will lead a tour around the seawall to some of Vancouver’s most iconic public artworks. The ride will end at Yue Minjun’s A-Maze-Ing Laughter in Morton Park around 4pm.

Suitable for bicyclists of all ages and skill-levels, the ride will be by donation only with proceeds going to support the Vancouver Biennale’s Artist-In-Residency program in our upcoming 2013-2015 exhibition. So if you’ve ever been curious about Vancouver’s growing legacy of public art, this is a great opportunity to see these works firsthand, get some exercise, and enjoy the scenery.

Hope to see you there!
