The A-Maze-Ing Laugh and Freeze Flash Photo! Laugh with us on August 11

Wednesday August 8th, 2012

Thinking ahead to your weekend plans? Well, we have something for you! Chip and Shannon Wilson and the Vancouver Biennale, together with the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, invite you to Morton Park on Saturday, August 11 from 1 to 3pm for a public celebration of laughter to mark the official donation of “A-Maze-Ing Laughter” to the people of Vancouver. The sculpture, by the internationally renowned contemporary artist Yue Minjun of China, was brought to the city as part of the Vancouver Biennale 2009-2011 exhibition, inspiring endless playful interaction among locals and tourists alike. It quickly became an iconic cultural beacon in the city, and is now here for generations of residents and visitors to enjoy in perpetuity.

This casual, family-friendly event will feature musical performances by Laurell and Vancouver’s Swingin’ Legend Dal Richards and entertainment by the Public Dreams Society. And at 2pm we’ll take a freeze flash photo where we try to capture as many people as possible in an A-Maze-Ing Laughter pose!

Keep your eyes posted on our website, Facebook event page, and Twitter (hashtag is #vanlaughter) for event the details. We’d love to see you there!
