Ishmael Randall Weeks
Ishmael Randall Weeks (b. 1976, Cusco, Peru) graduated from Bard College in 2000 and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2007. His work has been shown in several museums including MoMA P.S.1, New York; the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern of Art, UK; the Contemporary Art Museum, Lima; CCEBA, Buenos Aires; The Drawing Center, New York; The MALI, Lima; MACRO Museum, Rome; The National Museum, Lima; The Museum of Arts and Design, New York; Museo del Banco de La Republica, Colombia; The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, Italy; The Drawing Room, London; Museo de Bellas Artes, Mexico City; the Bronx Museum, New York; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His work has also been included in the 10th Havana Biennial, the 9th Cuenca Biennial, the 6th S files Biennial at the Museo del Barrio, and as part of Dublin Contemporary at the National Gallery of Ireland.
He has received fellowships, residencies, and awards from a range of institutions, including most recently the Rockefeller Foundation, NYC; Fundacion Mar Adentro, Chile; the MACRO Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rome; the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, New York; NYFA, New York; Art Matters, New York; Kiosko residency, Bolivia, and La Curtiduria art center in Oaxaca, Mexico. Randall Weeks is represented by VanDoren Waxter Gallery, New York; Federica Schiavo Gallery, Milan; Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico; and Revolver Galeria, Lima, Peru.
