Like so many, we are heartbroken by the devastatin

Like so many, we are heartbroken by the devastating fire at Pier Park in New Westminster last night. We hope the sculpture WOW WESTMINSTER ( ‘W’ ) by José Resende can be restored and reinstalled, as a beloved symbol of the city, a legacy of the Pier & it’s history.

Opening Today -- our THREADS THROUGH TIME project is opening at The ACT Art Gallery starting Saturday, Sept 12 through Oct 17, 2020.

THREADS THROUGH TIME is phase 2 of the Vancouver Biennale's WEAVING CULTURAL IDENTITIES project, an exploration that brings together Indigenous and Islamic communities in a collaborative exploration of weaving traditions and histories. We are thrilled to be able to show these weavings in BC again, so if you didn't get a chance to see them in person in 2019, be sure to make an appointment to see it at ACT Art Gallery in Maple Ridge!

Did you know we have Vancouver Biennale sculptures in Squamish? Come sit inside the heart of a tree with PUBLIC FURNITURE URBAN TREES - SQUAMISH by Brazilian artist Hugo França. Over the past twenty years, he has researched and developed techniques to transform salvaged fallen trees into sculptures and furniture. With PUBLIC FURNITURE URBAN TREES - SQUAMISH, França used this expertise to convert trunks and roots of local fallen cedar trees and trees that have washed ashore, creating this sculptural furniture for the community to experience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
