Engage with the current artist in residence Karen Lofgren as she installs her sculpture at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden!  From July 21 until July 23, the artist will be on location to talk to the public about her Vancouver Biennale project and her artistic practice.

The project concept for the Vancouver Biennale will take cues from the urban landscape, employing familiar and ubiquitous aesthetics of street signage to inform the content of small metal and plastic structures which are balanced and presented with careful consideration of Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. The pieces aim to reflect existing, ancient compositions prized for asymmetry, hollowness, and other key characteristics that these decisively contemporary objects will embody.
