Exhibition Launch - Vanier Park - Tue June 26

Please join us for the unveiling of Ajlan Gharem‘s Paradise Has Many Gates and the official launch of the 2018-2020 Vancouver Biennale exhibition at Vanier Park on Tuesday, June 26th, 2018.

Paradise Has Many Gates is an open site for dialogue and public use and the central point for the Vancouver Biennale multicultural music and food fest. It is also the focus of two major interactive community projects with First Nations and Islamic artists (Weaving Cultural Identities: Celebrating Heritage and Textile Traditions and Weaving Cultural Identities: Threads Through Time)

Press, community partners, patrons and friends of the Vancouver Biennale are invited to witness the unveiling of Vancouver’s newest outdoor community gathering space and the inaugural installation of the 2018-2020 Vancouver Biennale, to meet the artist, and to participate in meaningful dialogue about sacred/public space, interculturalism, and other global and local issues.

Ajlan Gharem, visiting from Saudi Arabia, will be on site and available to field questions and discuss pertinent topics about this work.
