Ready, Set, Go! Blue Trees in Richmond – Day 1 in pictures

Thursday March 17th, 2011

You drive by city workers daily – sporting their hard hats and reflective vests and steel-toed boots but you, like us rarely think of all of the hard work they do to ensure that our cities stay beautiful. It’s one thing to have an idea for public art, another to actually execute it, but it would not be possible without the cooperation of the cities we are working in and the men and women who help us out!

We would like to give a huge shout-out and a VERY BIG thank you to everyone who is helping us realize this dream of Kon’s urban, blue forests!

Today was spent getting the trees into the correct formation for the colourant to be applied by Kon and the volunteers tomorrow. We even had time for a quick interview with Matt Hoekstra, from the Richmond Review.

Here is a look at today’s efforts.

Come down tomorrow and have a look – we start applying the blue at 11am!
