What a dough head!?!
Friday April 29th, 2011
Soren Dahlgaard, is one of our fantastic artists that participated in the 2009-2011 Vancouver Biennale, who art has caught a lot of attention world wide.
The Dough Portraits project has traveled throughout the world including exhibitions in Europe, South America and North America. The dough head represents an identity in transition – people from all cultures can relate to both identity and dough in its various forms.
Dahlgaard asks his audience to question their own perceptions. What judgments would you form about someone if you were not given the opportunity to see their face or ethnicity?
I am particularly fond of “Idiot,” because I think it just works, on so many levels!
