Lord Selkirk Spoken Word Poetry

Through the Vancouver Biennale BIG IDEAS 2014 Program, Grade 5/6 students at Lord Selkirk Elementary explored different perspectives and the influence of culture on identity and perception. Through spoken word poetry, musical looping and rhythm workshops students learnt to express their knowledge and passion about social issues from around the world. Working collaboratively, students created spoken word poetry and accompanying music that they recorded and performed at their school.
