Bus shelter art shares ‘rules’ of Vancouver
A U.K. contemporary artist who came up with 17 different “rules” for Vancouver from his city artist’s residency will have his work displayed at 10 different bus stop shelters in Vancouver until May.
Peter Liversidge likes to work with words. His art is deceivingly simple and takes the form of a sheet of paper with 17 typewriter-inked rules that are up for interpretation.

Letter: Blue trees stir passion, dialogue
While I have great respect for Chief editor Christine Endicott, I take issue with her editorial “Outcry about blue trees ignored” (Oct. 22).
There is not doubt the Blue Trees installation has caused a kerfuffle in town. But before The Squamish Chief and some area residents condemn the project, our community might want to keep an open mind about it and other public art.

New West welcomes Blue Trees
Konstantin Dimopoulos is trying to change the world – one tree at a time.
The Australian artist visited New Westminster last week to help set up the new Blue Trees installation that’s part of the Vancouver Biennale.
“Blue doesn’t exist in nature,” Dimopoulos told the Record. “There are red trees, there are yellow trees – but blue doesn’t. It’s a surreal environment, where people aren’t expecting to see blue. That’s why we are creating it.”
If you’re looking for the Blue Trees around town, you’ll find one on Columbia Street (across from Anvil Centre), 12 in Westminster Pier Park (near the concession and the urban beach) and 20 on the front lawn of city hall.
