This piece symbolizes a story of a lonely man that has been de-faced with guilt of tragedy, and has to look beyond these hurtful emotions and words. I chose to extenuate the form of the face by using intense shadows and subtle skin tones to play along with the sad emotion portrayed. I also used negative space to symbolize the open world, and freedom of life. The main focus of my piece was to really take the emotion of the piece and use it in many different aspects. This piece is inspired by the Vancouver Biennale Exhibition in 2009-2011: WE, 2008 (Jaume Plensa, Spain).
